After looking into reported cases of blood clotting following a dose of the Johnson & Johnson, the CDC and FDA have determined that the benefits of continuing to use the vaccine outweigh the rare risk of a clotting reaction. Women aged 18-50 who wish to get the J&J vaccine should be aware that the reaction is possible. The Farmington Valley Health District will consider procuring the J&J vaccine in our efforts to vaccinate the homebound population, and it is possible we will have the vaccine available at our public clinics in the future.
